STAIRWAY FOR BALLET AT A GLANCE
One Step At A Time
Stairway For Ballet knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives.
In 2020, this 501(c)3 nonprofit organization realized that acknowledging racism and taking action is the only way to make a more inclusive ballet world which ultimately lead to launching Stairway For Ballet. This includes the Step Program, podcasts, petitions, videos, and blogs.
ACTIVITIES
One Step At A Time
Stairway For Ballet is working on more projects along with our Step Program to help eliminate racism and increase diversity in ballet. Learn more and support us by listening to podcasts, signing petitions, watching videos, and reading blogs. We always strive to improve and welcome any kind of feedback and contribution.
PODCASTS
Listen.
Once every two weeks, we are producing podcasts that will highlight the diversity problem in the ballet world and illustrate experiences and interviews from ballet dancers. These podcasts will mainly underscore the importance of eliminating racism and increasing diversity in ballet and what we can do to contribute to it.
The podcasts are available on Spotify as well as RadioPublic, Breaker, and Overcast.
PETITIONS
Sign.
Here, you can find some petitions that you can sign in order to make the ballet world more diverse and inclusive. A example of the petitions include urging more pointe shoe companies to produce pointe shoes for all skin tones, darker tights, and inclusive dance clothing in general.
These petitions we have are all on moveon.org. These only need one click to sign! After signing, share with your friends and family to help us reach our goal.
VIDEOS
Watch.
We are posting videos twice a month that present exercises to improve your stamina and your flexibility. These can be found on YouTube and are in increments of 5-10 minutes. Each video concentrates on exercises for a specific part of the body so that you can have access to videos to focus on improving a single part.
Subscribe and like on YouTube to get various updates on how to get stronger for ballet.
