WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Great teacher! Very patient with young kids.

Thank you for doing this! My daughter has been begging to learn ballet but we can't afford it. This is so thoughtful!

Paisley has been so eager to begin ballet, but due to the current Pandemic she’s been unable to do so as well as our ever changing financial stability.
We hope you can help our family support her dream of being a ballerina and commend you for your generosity of free virtual classes! 🩰

I think this is a great program you are doing. I would like my daughter to try ballet and see if she would like to pursue this further.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How does the Step Program work?

Once you register your child or contact us, we are going to connect them with a volunteer dancer who will send them a zoom link every week so that their child can take these ballet classes weekly. This is a great chance for students to experience joy and feel a sense of community during these ballet classes, especially during these hard times.

2. How are volunteers picked?

The volunteers we have are all experienced volunteer dancers who have at least danced for 5 years and a lot of our volunteers are majoring in dance in college. To make sure our volunteers are experienced with both ballet and teaching children, we interview the volunteers and ask them questions. We also have a volunteer info session that trains volunteers all about scheduling zoom meetings, scheduling classes on google calendar, and sending emails to parents with the class zoom meetings every week.

3. How have the Step Program been going so far?

The organization and this program has been going for over a year. Cohort 1 (June-August 2021) Summer Session Classes has been a success and our Cohort 2 (September-December 2021) Fall Session Classes is currently in progress. We have a team of 20 volunteers and are rapidly expanding!

4. How do I register my child for these free online ballet classes?

Please refer above! The classes are divided into two classes: Step One for Ages 5-7 and Step Two for Ages 8-10. The first form for each of the classes is to get connected with a experienced volunteer dancer from around the world and the second form is to get monthly classes every first Saturday from the founder.
